We discuss here the EVIDENCE suggesting that there was a culture of
Homosexual Pedophilia in the Brotherhood of St Barnabas [aka Bush
Brotherhood of St Barnabas], that ran All
Souls School in Charters Towers, North Queensland, Australia. We
believe this prospect is worthy of far greater scrutiny, due to
the lasting harm that we believe this has caused, and IS STILL CAUSING.
We trust that this exposé will motivate others, who have been
molested by Brothers or Fathers of the Bush Brotherhood of St
Barnabas. We have spoken to past students of All Souls School,
who we students at that time. We are eager to speak to more past
students of the Bush Brotherhood of St Barnabas run All Souls

The Bush Brotherhood of St Barnabas was, one of seven "Bush
Brotherhoods" in Australia. The suggestion that they were all
PEDOPHILIA inspired is strengthened by the fact that they tended
to provide for the "life needs" of children. For Instance, thre
was also the Anglican Bush Brotherhood of St Paul, which founded
and ran the Childrens Hostel in Charleville, South-Western Queensland.
This is not just history, in the past and better forgotten.
Many people have been so harmed by the pedophilia, that they are now
and still inflicting harm on others. It is the well known
psychological phenomenon, of the victim later becoming the
perpetrator. We believe this is the case with Hugh
McVean. It is a philosophical as well as legal question,
whether that victim/perpetrator is responsible for his subsequent
vengence. These ex-victims [for which they are in no way
responsible], now perpetrators are like TIME-BOMBS. This is a
MASSIVE SOCIAL PROBLEM, as well as a legal question. Full and
frank exposure and disclosure seems the only appropriate remedy.
We believe this evidence raises a 'Reasonable apprehension' that
homosexual pedophilia was rampant at All Souls School from at least the
time of the WWII [Second World War], to the mid 1960's.
We have been able to determine much about All Souls School circa
1960. We give the history below [founded 1920 ...] but by
this time, the
Brotherhood of St Barnabas. which ran All Souls School practiced a
culture of cruel, excessive corporeal punishment, homosexual
pedophilia. Regardless of whether the Brotherhood of St
Barnabas had been an enclave of homosexual pedophiles, originally, at
the time of its formation, within the Anglican Church, it had, well
before the 1960's been been
overtaken by a culture of cruel, excessive corporeal punishment, by
homosexual pedophiles. Have a look below at some of the photographs
that those associated with All Souls School now, have published on the
Internet. These photographs were take during the WWII, between 1941 and
1945. Do you think they look a bit too 'touchy feely' for an all
male establishment. Can you imagine these photos taken on
an all male army base.
The Brotherhood
of St Barnabas had always since 1920 when All Souls School was founded,
recruited 'Brothers' from the UK. Post WWII and past the
1960's, the Australian Migration scheme TEN POUND passage proved too
attractive to resist. Of course, limited resources is a fact of
life. Pedophilia developed as a 'natural' consequence.
'Access to young boys' was effectively an irrestible attraction to
homosexuals and pedophiles. 'Access to young boys' was
effectively a
remuneration. It was a market and like water, it found a
level. Does any one or group ever have surplus funds? If the
number of 'suitable' applicatnts is greater than needed, they can
reduce the remuneration.
We are not saying that this is still the situation with the Brotherhood
of St Barnabas, or with All Souls School. You may
wonder if you check the 'threatrical' photos of whcih they seem quite
proud.
Society seems to be not as likely to be turning the proverbial blind
eye, as time developed. All Souls School was unable to continue
to use 'Access to young boys by homosexual pedophiles' as a currency
This necessitated the merger. All Souls School has merged
with its previously sister School of St Gabriels. St Gabriels was
previously an autonoous sachool. In fact, my father's cousin,
Myra Mathews was the Headmistress of St Gabriels for a period during
the 1950's.

The boys loved their early morning swim in the Burdekin River. It was
much better fun than the cold showers at their usual school.
The school later moved to the Charters Towers racecourse.

After the war, the school acquired a number of ex-Army buildings. Some
were used as dormitories and a dining hall for over 40 years. Others
